Advice for the 'core' 20? - Guild Wars Forums

Recently returned to the game after quite a while offline, let me explain the situation a bit.

I've a 'fresh' PvE 20 (two of them actually). Basic armor, rather blah weapons. Only a couple of Elite skills unlocked...haven't yet reached the areas where the better bosses hide out. Light on Runes, not a lot of cash... Spent the last week collecting the first half-dozen Heros and getting their builds set up (since there wasn't any such animal last time I played).

Basically, ready to get to work building up for the 'real' endgame and some PvP.

Soooo...now what? Looking for suggestions of the best runs to do to raise funds, farm some purples, etc. for a core-skills build in the early L20 areas. Or hell, any sort of general advice you want to offer.

(assuming they you're talking about Nightfall gameplay)

Personally this is the only time i found Sunspear and Lightbringer point farming actually useful besides the rank gain.

Alot of nice items are picked up along the way, especially if you havent explored a certain area before or arent a regular farmer.

On my first play of Nightfall, i, by the end accumulated enough money to nab end game primeval armor.

My advice? Identify all the weapons and drops you possibly can.
Salvage items, you never know when a nice rare jewel might pop up.
Quests are essential at some points, and optional quests can give you substantial rewards if performed in 'bulk' (performing a bunch of quests and getting all the rewards at once)

Trade contracts, Battle Commendations and anything of that sort should be hoarded (especially trade contracts since 7 of them = one jewel) to be traded in when you really need the money.

Level your heroes. Keep the collectible drops to get them equipment. Open those "buried treasure", "do not touch" thingies. Salvage geodes in hopes of getting ruby or sapphire. Do not get carried away with cookie-cutter builds for yourself or your heroes. Superior Death Magic rune is at 7k, but the necro heroes wreak havoc as degen/support blood necros. Check out guru auctions and trade forums to see what items and skins are desired by the players - that way you won't sell your Gloom Shield for 5k. I think that every Nightfall cahracter will have enough cash for a 15k armor by the time they finish the game.

What classes are you playing? PM me in game (Antigone Amidala), I might have some items that would come in handy. No charge.
